Thanks! I was going for contrast. . .

I was just going to say the same!

I can too, though I wasn't thinking in those terms when I posted it. I wish I had photos of my eleventh-grade self to share. By the time I was a senior my face had narrowed and become somewhat more masculine.

I should have guessed, but had no idea you could draw like that. Amazing.

Thanks. It's been a while, so I was kind of surprised at how well I managed then. I don't have enough of a nose to draw effectively even now, but it does look a good deal like I did then.

For me, the thing about a good portrait drawing is to be able to see through the technique to the soul of the person, and you achieved this admirably, I think.

That's a detail? I'd like to see the full version.

Quite nice!

The rest is less fully realized -- I was doing this "after" a famous Albrecht Dürer self-portrait from 1500 -- and, alas, too big to scan. But I'd share the whole thing if I could.

Wow, very kewl. Was your hair really like that?

Pretty much. Even in my yearbook photo from the following year, the wavy quality I could never straighten out is apparent,

I am ever so impressed. Also ever so behind on my livejournaling and commenting. But mostly just ever so impressed. Again.
