One More Ride On the Bus

I don't follow the NFL like I did as a child or back in the early 1990s when the 49ers and Cowboys had their most heated rivalry. Parity bores me. And I don't really have a team to root for now, since the teams I've followed over the years are all tanking it. But one thing I learned from my father is that football games in the snow are fun no matter who is playing. I'm sorry I missed today's Steeler's game. My regret is more than compensated for, however, by the news that Jerome Bettis, who plays sparingly now, had over 100 yards rushing for the first time this season. He deserved one more career-defining day. I will now return to flagellating myself for liking the USC football team, despite the fact that it is my intra-Pac 10 duty to dislike the Trojans. What can I say? Their offense turns me on like no football -- aside from Cal, naturally -- has in years. I'm so glad I watched the Fresno State and UCLA games so I could see Reggie Bush's performance live. Back to the editing grind. . .
