Friday and this afternoon I went jogging, only in the pool. My original reason for doing so was that I wanted to exercise with my hat on while Skylar frolicked. But I soon recalled reading about those water aerobics classes for senior citizens and decided that I might be able to get leg exercise without unduly straining my still-balky knee if I ran underwater. So far, the results are impressive. My legs are very tired right now, but the knee feels better than it does after a bike ride or conventional jog. I go the length of the pool facing forwards, then return, without turning around, running backwards. And then I'll do some two-footed jumps periodically in the deepest part of the pool. I'm interested to see whether this regimen, if I keep it up, will make life easier for me on the basketball court.
