Does Collecting Make You Feel Dirty?
Backordered Self-Promotion
Every time I write the notes for the International Arts Society's film of the week, I mean to put them up here for you to read. But I never seem to get around to it. Looking some of them over today, however, I realize A) I really love reading Kim's notes; B) I'm pretty happy with the way mine have turned out; and C) the way she and I have been writing the notes makes them relevant to a broader audience than the people who attend the IAS film series here at the University of Arizona. With that in mind, I'll make the ones I can retrieve available here over the next couple weeks. The notes I just wrote for tonight's film, Jean-Luc Godard's Vivre sa vie (My Life To Live) will be my next entry as per elizabeg's request. My brain has been swirling with various Godard-related thoughts over the past two weeks so it feels good to publish some of them.

I was going to say hey! don't try to get around emailing me! but then I got my name in lights or purple bold or whatever, so I can't complain :)

Maybe I just think I want to write about Godard (even though there's hardly time for functional mastery) because I want to relive that postwar class and have an excuse to read Fast Cars, Clean Bodies again... Not that there'd be anything wrong with that.

Sorry about the e-mailing. I've been in an odd space this week. E-mail feels like a major burden.

I think Kristin Ross deserves lots of readings.

Lord knows I have my odd spaces, odd geographies, etc. And I have a Christmas from a friend still sitting on my desk because I kept saying I had to reply with an actual letter instead of an email but really I can't managed to do either. I'm shameless. Point is: please feel no need for apologies.

I love Kristin Ross.
