Getting Ahead

I'm about to drive down to the administrative offices for District 16 -- otherwise known as the Catalina Foothills School District -- to see whether we can get Skylar enrolled at one of its elementary schools, preferably Mazanita (the closest), for next year. We live in a neighboring district, with lower test scores and somewhat greater diversity.

Many of the kids in Skylar's pre-school are going to be in District 16, quite a few of them at Manzanita.

I can't believe I've become one of those people.

Perhaps we'll end up having to scoot through the slums of our local "Beverly Hills" one day in order to keep Skylar enrolled there.

Well, off to shower and Starbucks.
