Does Collecting Make You Feel Dirty?
More San Diego Noir
This one has more of a 50s-feel to my mind, though the house obviously dates from before then. I think I'll call the subgenre horror noir:

Makes me wonder where they filmed the original Halloween. Don't these stairs remind you of Haddonfield, Illinois? Mike Oldfield just started playing in my head on cue. . .

California homes, to me, look pristine--even the neglected ones. I wonder if this is because where I'm fron a home looks old after a year. With the filthy snow, filthy rain, and generally frightening air, the houses look like they are battling ailments. Smog-schmog. The Ohio Valley's where pollution reigns supreme. As a youngster, I had plenty California dreams on such winter days. A lot of them had to do with pretty houses.

My first residence in Berkeley was a flat on the second floor of a home whose ground-level rooms had been condemned. But there was a palm tree out front, so I was like, "I'm livin' the Cali lifestyle!"

Still loving the Savannah sequence. . .
