Not as big a grant as the one that I'm going to get for demonstrating that people who have sex regularly are happier than people who don't!

Hey! I bet your study will show that people who have flat trajectories are likely to become less happy over time as well!

Maybe it's not just a slight of mouth that "Money can't buy Happiness" but having an adequate supply of it would surely grease the skids of it's pursuit.

and I can think of no-one besides KDD, the Bean and you that I'd like to see have one! For me, strip mining a certain ranch in Texas would bring such pleasure.

Remember, this is newspaper social science. There is a pretty famous study by academic psychologists (of course I forget the title) that argues precisely the opposite: that actually, beyond a basic level of being able to support onesself, there is no correlation between income and happiness.
