Something about that at-bat you might not know about.

You probably remember that Mitch Williams' entrance theme in those days was "Wild Thing." Looking back, that must have been one of the first times the entrance thing was used ... now, everyone has one, even Scott Eyre coming in to pitch to one batter in the 7th inning.

Anyway, as Williams came trotting in from the bullpen, the Candlestick sound guy started playing "Wild Thing." We were disturbed ... why play the opposing player's theme song? But after a few bars of the song, he slowed it down as if someone had pulled the plug. "Wild thin ummm sugghsdf," then silence.

The crowd went crazy.

Up until October 24, 2002, Neal and I referred to that as the happiest day together of our life.

Awesome! I didn't know that. Mitch Williams. Wow. That's a memory. It's cool knowing you were there. I think it was Game Two that we were watching at Kip's. No, it had to be.
