My Courses
I've added links to the weblogs I just created for my two courses this semester. There are three entries for English 596L, my graduate course, so far and none for English 380, my undergrad "gateway to the major" course.

I imagine that most of my, what, ten readers here will be more interested in the graduate course, since it has a theme and all.

The sidebar on the weblog for that one will list articles of interest, sometimes quoted in an entry. You can only access the link if you are a University of Arizona student, staff, or faculty member.

But if someone out there is interested in reading one of the articles I've linked to, please write me and I'll try to help you find a copy.

Wow Charlie--two additional blogging enterprises. That's committment. Or madness. In any case, it's not just intriguing but inspiring.

And please do note the absence of a certain other word beginning with the letter "I."

Speaking of "I" yours truly here should really go unearth that essay on the slippery little pronoun that we discussed in the days of McSweeney's...

I am a hotel manager in San Francisco. A few years ago I came across the journal Bad Subjects and the articles really hit home. Your name and writing in particular stuck with me and ever since I have kept up with the journal and tried to find other work you have done on the net. Since this was an easy way to reach you I just wanted to say hello.

I thought about you in particular tonight after browsing through the latest copy of BS and after I overheard two members of the UC Board of Regents and a conversation they were having in the lobby of the hotel. They were talking about a book by David Horowitz entitled "Left Illusions". I was surprised at how they both were raving over the books content and how he was another "60's leftist radical" who had "seen the light". They said that he was a member of the Black Panthers, but an outside colleague quickly pointed out he to them that was a friend to a murdered Black Panther. To say the least I was disheartened by their commentary on the left and would like to have engaged in conversation with them on why this book was so good and why the left was so bad. However, I could not do this as they were guests of the hotel where I work.

At any rate sir, it was an opportunity to go back and look at BS and also led me to a google search for your name which brought me here. I just wanted you to know that I am one person who was interested in learning more about certain subjects you write on and you have helped nourish my intellectual curiousity. I will count myself as the 11th reader of your livejournal. Thanks and keep up the good work.
