Prayers For Rain
Now Bean is coming down with a new bug. Kim seems to have a cold on top of last week's sinus infection. And I haven't felt 100% since early December. Maybe the rain we're hoping to get tomorrow will wash all the ambient illness away. At the very least, it will do wonders for my breathing apparatus. If it comes, that is. The only sure thing about the weather here is that there will be long stretches of hot, dry, dusty days. Anything else needs the help of a ritual, preferably with a sacrifice or two. I have hundreds of things I need to do, but I think I'm going to give my body the rest it clearly needs and start fresh in the morning. Please, lord, bring us some wetness.

I spent the day sending our morning wetness your way. So here's hoping that it worked.

a rain charm from theatrical superstition

The Merchant of Venice<.i>, Act IV scene i

The quality of mercy is not strain'd,
It droppeth as the gentle rain from heaven
Upon the place beneath: it is twice blest;
It blesseth him that gives and him that takes"

Re: a rain charm from theatrical superstition

Does that mean I'm living in a moral desert? ;-)
