Does Collecting Make You Feel Dirty?
Is there anyone whose menu hasn't recently changed? I'm sick of listening carefully. Even the Jack in the Box I was forced to stop at on the way home from the airport last night -- my blood sugar crash was not to be ignored -- presented me with a dizzying array of options. Let's hope Skylar doesn't accidentally read about all of their new ciabatta offerings. I'd hate for her to think that the place serves real food.

Just last evening, I was in the drive-thru ("pick-up window"; so politically correct!) at my neighborhood Wendy's, and their menu had changed seemingly overnight, now offering 'club sandwiches' that remarkably resemble JITB's ciabatta bread items.

I'm really hoping that the situation presented in Demolition Man (the fast food wars) come to pass in the near future, except Taco Bell won't be the winner. (Ideally, they'd all eliminate each other, and we could actually learn to cook for ourselves.)

Amen to that! I like that movie, actually.

Around the time I was taking your classes in 2001-02, I was employed as a Jack in the Box "mystery guest." This involved eating four fast food meals in a row (all throughout southern AZ) and then rating their quality, writing up a review, and phoning it in to HQ. During the 8 months that I did this job, my health dropped to near that of a POW, but the $11/hr. was just unbeatable.

I remember! You talked about it quite a bit.
