I'm not a fast thinker. Or, rather, I prefer not to think too fast. But when the pieces finally lock in place, the exhilaration is sublime. I'm rapidly approaching one of those moments. It feels good. I just hope I don't fall asleep before I get there. There's always the danger of missing one's stop, as any veteran of European rail passes will tell you. Still, I'm hopeful. With any luck, my destination will prove to be a terminus so that, even if I'm sleeping, the conductor will wake me up and force me out onto the platform, shivering in the 3am air and thinking, "Shit, I'm already in Frankfurt."
