Does Collecting Make You Feel Dirty?
Fort und Da
The Monsoon departed for a few hideous days of June-like heat. But it's on its way back. Of course, we're about to leave for a week. I'm glad we at least got to see some of the lightning show as it closed in on us from the north and south:

There's no way of doing the storm justice with my equipment. It has to rank with the best displays I've ever seen. And now the thunder is rolling. T.S. Eliot would be wetting himself with the perfection of it all.

OMG I am so envious of this kind of weather. I love knock-down, drag-'em-out electrical storms (they're so much cleaner and more efficient than those yucky old coal-fired storms we used to have, back in the day). Whatever equipment you're using, looks to me as if you made it walk 'n' talk! One of these years, we have got to get down there for monsoon.

I bet you'd love it. The desert smells wonderful this time of year.

It better be going when I'm there. It seems like for a few years it really didn't rain for long. Love this picture. Love Tucson.

I hope it picks up again. The season started with such promise. But last week was way too dry and hot.

Looking forward to seeing you!

Even with your equipment, that is pretty amazing!

Thanks. It's hard to capture such extreme contrast. I was so delighted to get a whole bolt finally!

That is so gloriously wonderously cool. I miss thunderstorms and lightening.

Thanks! It's funny how the weather changes from place to place too. It was thundering at my parents' Maryland home today, but the sound was so different from in Tucson. More trees, fewer mountains. Rolling more than cracking. In Tucson, even distant thunder has a sharp sound.
