Wow, amazing sky. Have you submitted this to weatherpics?

We get those here. What are weatherpics?

P.S. I like your tractor fetish

weather(underline)pics is an LJ community of photo sharers sharing photos of um...weather. I have it set to appear on my friends page. It's been quiet of late but sometimes it's constant.

I hadn't thought of it that way but yeah, it does seem to be a fetish, eh? This morning I'll be finding out if the holy grail (the governor replacement) is really on it's way so I can put this thing back together and move on to paying jobs,

I was kidding, as I hoped you would realize. I know you need the tractor for work. But you speak so lovingly of its form. . . :-)

Yep, knew that!
But you speak so lovingly of its form. . . :-)
It's interesting, the wonderful wide world of topics discussed lovingly on LJ. You often talk of philosphers and writers you have spent time with. KDD has her pet topics. I often don't have the context to be a professional player when I read the words from your address or others but I am glad to be included as it broadens my world. On the same level, I have worked with machinery for years and still consider myself a neophyte. But I can discuss it (or tell it!) knowing that while many who bother to read may be unsure what I'm talking about, some of the readers are somehow fascinated enough with what I'm trying to say that they read it in hopes of, like me, being able to at least partially digest what's being said. If I was very forward thinking, I'd leave cars and tractors behind and start tinkering with alternate fuels;^). Instead I chose to continue on my shady path and take time now and then to peak into other's worlds as they see fit to share.

This year's Monsoon has been special. It's a shame you couldn't experience some of it.

under the clouds...

The sky last night at dusk was astounding. It looked like a Maxfield Parrish (sp?) painting. Every direction you looked there was something else weird going on.

It gets that way because the sun shines UNDER the clouds and bounces down with all the odd optical effects that occur when your lens is the combination of forty miles of the atmosphere and wispy six mile long water bags (clouds). The colors are amazing! I saw green, yellow, pink, and everything in between. All the neighborhood teens were looking at me like, "What are you looking at?"

Re: under the clouds...

Totally. This is why people put up with a lot of heat and madness to live here: when it's beautiful, it's really fucking beautiful.

Of course, afterwards I went in the house and fantasized that the mosquito bites I'd received were a side effect of me standing outdoors at dusk. . .

Re: under the clouds...

I am immune to mosquitoes. They just don't like me. I heard them buzzing around me for hours as I worked in the backyard yesterday. My girlfriend came out for five minutes and she had six or seven mosquito bites. Bugs love her.
