Re: Hawes' lack of props

Spencer Hawes is just as dominant, if not more so, than Oden. The problem with the Pac-10 — in any sporting event — is its geography and time difference with the Eastern U.S. The tried and true gripes of Pac-10 fans are true this year — at least so far. If Hawes was on another team that wasn't based in the Northwest he'd be getting just as much hype as Oden. Anyway, I'm just tired of the traditional rips against the Pac-10 (a conference long berated for lacking true big men and physical play). At least this year those cliches appear to be unfounded. Only time will tell, though.

Re: Hawes' lack of props

I agree. Oden has more speed and is better on defense, but Hawes has better form shooting. This could be a big year for the Pac-10. Fingers crossed!

Re: Hawes' lack of props

woah woah woah... before we start making this comparison let us remember that oden is still playing injured. he's been having to shoot with his off hand (even free throws)... when he completely heals he's going to be even better for it.

OSU is going to be fucking TOUGH.

Re: Hawes' lack of props

I know. But I saw clips of Oden from last year too. Hawes has more range, less speed and strength. Either one could be the best college center in a long while, as freshmen.
