Does Collecting Make You Feel Dirty?
On the Road Again
The air this morning is so clean and fresh that I'm going to get my exhausted body out on the road for my first ride in days. During the past two weeks, as my opportunities to bicycle have radically diminished, I've noticed that my asthma has been picking up. I think I need to ride even when it feels like a burden. And I'm off!

The riding has helped enormously. I'm also using Zen/Pilates techniques designed to strengthen the abdomen through breathing exercises. So far, so good. That is, given everything awful going on in our lives, it's amazing that I haven't come down with anything major yet, knock on simulated woodgrain.

Nice LJ icon, BTW!

ha! ta. buttontastic, no?
my sinus thing escalates to wheezing in extremis, so i do sympathise. it is particularly unpleasant to do a breathing meditation when the wheeze is on. abdominal breathing is nice, though, isn't it? and good for you, too, who knew?

Yeah. I never had much interest in those muscles before I started reading about their relation to breathing. But just a little work has made a big difference.
