Does Collecting Make You Feel Dirty?
His Purpleness
And that's a nice següe from thinking about how great Sly and the Family Stone were. If anyone can make the bombast of a Super Bowl halftime show light up from the inside and soar into the firmament, it's Prince. I actually enjoyed watching, hard as it is to believe that I would ever enjoy that sort of spectacle. His over-the-top approach to the guitar works best when subtlety would be lost in the smoke. "Proud Mary" and "All Along the Watchtower" were good choices. And the climax was pretty cool-looking on television. I wonder if his rider demanded a rainstorm?

I love his guitar playing and tonight was a good example. His solos are amazingly bluesy but with some added hard rock flash. Everything sounded pretty good on the picture-box considering it was in the middle of a rainy football field.

Yeah, I was surprised. I do like his playing. It's baroque, but in a good way.

And he certainly didn't look his age, either! I suppose it makes sense, though, since he always seemed to be shooting for a really big stage.
