A first-round loss by Duke makes up for a lot of boring basketball!

Yes, indeed. Nice to see Republicans going down. And especially the devilish blue sort!

The VCU win was glorious even if it came against an atypical Duke squad. Now, here's to hoping the Cats can play a little defense in today's game against Purdue.

They can play defense. It's more a matter of whether they will.

Totally agreed. We might be downtown watching the UofA game today if you'll be around...

Father-in-law. But thanks for the offer. Maybe next week?

A first-round Duke loss completely compensates for my messed-up bracket (although I only had Duke going to the Sweet 16, not farther).

I hear you. I'd actually picked them to lose the first-round game out of spite, so I was quadruply pleased.

I bet Frederic Jameson is pissed. I'm pretty surprised that Duke lost. They were not a great team this year, but still, Coach Krysflkjfads;ljsk;al;lkaski usually does a phenomenal job of keeping his kids from playing down to their competition. Who's your pick to win it?

Yeah, I'd just finished reading on ESPN.com how the oddsmakers give Duke extra points for having such a sterling coach. So it was ironic in a welcome sort of way.

My pick? North Carolina. The ACC is proving to have been tougher than many thought. All they have to do is play at 85% of capacity and they can win it all.
