Looks like the snow and cold is gone. ;-)

Actually, it snowed on top of the mountain Thursday and Friday. But it has warmed up down below. Still lovely, however.

it's a wonderful shot!... so warm.

Thank you! The light just before sunset is great this time of year. I've learned a lot about photographing people from your shots. You capture warmth in all sorts of ways.

you are right... sunset' lightning properties are wonderful to take snapshots of faces and bodies. Thanks for you words! Is weird, in the best way, to know that someone really like my pics.

Hugs!

Your photos are amazing. I've heard from a bunch of people who clicked on my "Friends" page back when you were posting a lot how much they loved them. And the graphic design is great too.

I love the lines of their arms and legs, they bounce my eyes around and back, keeping my attention. Nice.

Yeah, I was trying to get one of those Baroque compositions, with multiple points of entry and exit. So I'm glad you noticed!

This was going to be my comment, too! :)

Thanks. I've always liked shots that put people in a landscape that they relate to physically. Trying to get the arms and legs akimbo is one way I try to pull that off in my own photography. I can't wait until I get a camera that allows me to control focus and exposure more precisely. It's exhausting having to trick an all-automatic one like my Olympus C-50. Soon. . .

Tucson has the best light. Way to catch it, chief!

Danke sehr. I agree about Flickr. But it intimidates me.

The other loop of the trail we took you on in January. Cactus blooms to commence shortly. . .

Light in the desert

Ah, the desert. Here in Providence, C. has been pining for precisely such scenes as the one in yr photo. Is that Oro Valley? It has always amazed me how such loveliness can exist alongside such abject squalor as one finds in Tucson.

The charms of New England are lost on C. -- but not on me.

Re: Light in the desert

Well, she's from frakkin' Österreich!" Seriously, when you get to the edge of the sprawl here, it's pretty lovely. We live right across from the western terminus of the Catalina Range, in the "slums" of Oro Valley. That trail is five minutes from our house. Nice to hear from you, BTW.

Beautiful. Sometimes I miss the desert so damn much. This is one of those times. Probably exacerbated by my parents' impending visit. Who knows. I just know that I miss that slanting gold light.

And the light misses you. I hope you have a nice visit. I was singing your praises today to a student planning to apply for graduate school.
