The Good Outweighed the Bad
Let's see. I misplaced my keys yesterday morning and still haven't found them despite looking in every possible spot I could think of. I also forgot to take my nasal steroids and discovered, upon inhaling them at 6pm, that they are better left for the morning. I'm up now, but too jittery and tired to accomplish much of anything. On the other hand, the makeshift sauce I prepared with the shriveled tomatoes mentioned in the "poem" I posted here Sunday was delicious. I had some great conversations with students in office hours today. I read Skylar thirty pages of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince before her bedtime, coming, finally, to the crucial introduction of horcruxes. And I ate, with enormous pleasure, one of the Cadbury Creme eggs I had rodented away before Easter .

Cadbury eggs

Did you notice they were smaller? Leave it to BJ Novak to bring the conspiracy to light...

Re: Cadbury eggs

Wow! I had set one out for my daughter last night, for her later consumption, and noticed that it did, indeed, seem unusually small in comparison with the "real" easter eggs nearby. Of course, this is one case where shrinkage might be a good thing. . .

too bad about your keys. The sauce tasted wonderful in that Sunday post! Cadbury Creme Eggs would be off-putting if they weren't so damn clever.

I was a kid when Cadbury Creme eggs debuted -- did you ever see that commercial with the clucking bunnies? -- so they remain dear to my heart despite their oddness.

But, hey, I found my keys! The sauce ended up featuring two serraño peppers, garlic, carrots and onions transformed into a sofrito. Simple, but tasty.

I love the clucking bunny!

*smile* When I read that tomato thing, the reply that formed immediately in my mind was "Sofrito!!
