I'm glad to hear it. But, if I may be so bold, why?

Nice photo of those books in your entry of today, BTW.

Well, I guess that statement was a bit strong -- I see the appeal in baseball, even soccer, and have been to many a baseball game in my day. I like watching basketball, but American football does nothing for me. I get pretty disgusted with big league, organized (corporate) sports. I also enjoy reading Dave Zirin's commentaries on sports, race, etc. I liked a lot of what he had to say about Bonds. And, Bonds is spectacular, at least when people actually pitch to him.

My husband watches Sports Center for hours on end, something that turns me off to anything that I might like about sports pretty quickly.

Thanks for the comments about the books -- I heard that you used to work at UPB. I probably bought things from you at least a few times!

Ahh, yes. The SportsCenter problem. I must admit that, were I less sensitive to my environment and the people within it, I might well be watching it a lot myself. But I rarely watch television these days. I leave that guilty pleasure for when I'm out of town or out on the town.

Bonds is spectacular, I think, all else aside. I met him once. He was very nice to some very underprivileged children from the City. It made me think differently about him. Well, off to work. . .
