You took this photo, right? What kind of camera do you have? I love almost every pic you post and I'm in the market for a really good camera.

Re: Camera

Shoot. I thought I'd replied to your comment back when I was in the Pacific Northwest. Most of the photos you've seen here were taken with an Olympus C-50 from 2002, which had a good lens but was pretty outmoded by the time it bit the dust in April. I replaced it, after much deliberation, with a Panasonic DMC-FZ8, which ran around $400 including tax and service plan. It's not perfect -- as the tests of Panasonic cameras had warned me, it's less than ideal in low-light situations -- but has a great zoom, an autofocus that works very well, and a generally logical interface, not to mention that it's big enough that I can hold it comfortably, unlike so many of the miniature pocket cameras that befuddle my mannish fingers. From what I've heard, Canons are the best bet across the board. But I wanted a Leica lens, if possible, and decided that the handling of the camera was crucial for me.

Re: Camera

And thanks so much for the kind words about my photography. It gives me pleasure to share. I'm a little vain about my images too, I suppose, but, since I'm generally lacking in vanity, I think I can be permitted a little narcissistic behavior.
