Bear Back
I've been reading the sports section with dread lately. The Giants are as awful as my friend Steven suggested they might be. And there has been bad news for the men's college basketball team at my alma mater. But, contrary to what I'd read this morning, it appears that Cal's DeVon Hardin will return to school for his senior season, giving me hope in the face of fannish adversity. The next step is for the football team to avenge last year's loss to Tennessee. Also, a little payback for the Wildcats would be nice.

I wasn't going to say anything about your recent obsession with "bare-backing", but man! Holy Kow! What's up? We should hang out.

Yes, we should. But when? You seem to be up in the middle of the night a lot. . .

Even if they do beat Tennessee (not likely) and Arizona (ok, likely), your boys have to come onto the Farm this year. Beware T.C. Ostrander.

I'm going to have to go to this.

Or you could just sell me your season ticket for the Big Game! As you may have heard, the reduced size of Stanford's stadium means that 30,000 of the Cal alums who attended previous Farm affairs won't be able to attend. It's a huge deal. Cal supporters are actually buying Stanford season tickets so that they can go!

Also, A) I think they have a decent shot against the Vols at home; and B) we should get together sometime soon for refreshments or food.

I don't know what the ticket situation is like, but if you really want to go, let me know and I'll look into it. I'll probably get season tickets if possible, because the home schedule looks pretty good this year: UCLA, Oregon, ASU, Notre Dame, and Cal.

It would be great to meet up. I'm unemployed these days, so my schedule is pretty much open, and I'm in town for a couple more weeks, at least. Drop me a line, or if you're going to play ball this week, I'll see you there.
