To the extent that we come up with anything original, it's almost always in the arrangment of items, not in the items themselves. I used to struggle with that sad realization, but now I take it for granted.

I also have those OCD tendencies. Tape flags help me not to spend so much time a pencil in hand. And they can be removed later if I want to read something over with fresh eyes, which is the main reason I deploy them.

I wish I had thought of that... particularly with Wittgenstein. I was attempting to reread some things from P.I. yesterday, but all I could see were my class-notes.

I got tired of having to procure multiple copies of the texts I use most. The nice thing about tape flags, at least the thicker sort, is that it's possible to write small notes on the transparent part that can then be "disappeared" when it's time for a fresh reading, but which can be entered in a log according to page number while they are still in the text.
