I got back from jogging a little while ago. I've been too busy to head out as regularly as I did towards the end of summer, but I usually manage to run a full five miles when I find the time. Today was the first day when I felt a trace of coolness in the air. That natural temperature control and the sounds of Joy Division performing live on my iPod Shuffle prodded me to go faster than usual, particularly when a favorite song came on. There's not much that makes me happier than speeding up to the beat of Stephen Morris's drumming as I feel the orange streak on the horizon get slimmer and slimmer. Or more melancholy, which is, I suppose, a perverse form of happiness and the one best suited to my present state of mind. Time to get back to my editing. . .
