If only that blue over red victory signaled something about a change in political luck . . .

"Take off that red shirt!," as the Cal fans chant.

We watched most of the Democratic debate tonight. Then I listened to excerpts from yesterday's Republican one. I sometimes like McCain, but he's so much less of a thinker than either Clinton or Obama. And Romney is clearly a flip-flopping mental mediocrity. Paul was good when he got to speak and so was Huckabee. I wish their likable qualities weren't overwhelmed by their reprehensible positions on a wide swath of issues.

I can't decide if my favorite statistic is the 2-11 FGM-A, the 0-9 3PM-A, or the whopping 5 points total scored by Derrick Low. Almost identical to his line in their game against UA. ;)

I think he's overrated. But when he gets hot, he can be a lot to handle. Kyle Weaver is pretty good, though.

What impressed me most about the Cal game was that Ryan Anderson was 5-8 from three-point range against what is supposed to be one of the best defenses in the country. If he can continue shooting anywhere near that percentage on treys, the Bears may get back above .500 in the conference.
