play it to the hilt

Everybody fakes it, for that matter, and while it's indeed noble to continue to conceive of certain traditions/beliefs/IDENTITIES and what-not as sacred, it's also......absurd and pointless. A person is so much more than the sum of his/her parts (be them ethnic, spiritual, and even fabricated at times)......then again, I have no sense of experiential perspective from which to proffer this arugment, given that I don't know what it's like to be the subject of bigotry and oppression......wait a second; I DO (to an extent) in light of recent events, as well as the fact that I grew up relatively rich in a working-class town.........shit, man; if this is about me, then I still don't totally get it. I HAVE a solid identity when it comes to my conception of the self, but with respect to the outside world, well--yeah, I'm guilty of "acting," but I do it in the interest of keeping things peaceful, and yet conflict alw

I don't know; I still don't get how/why people could be offended, but then this opinion is informed directly by my experience of having no NOMINAL (i.e. in name) religious beliefs growing up......it's such a fucking mess. Screw it; hence why it's easier to conceive of it ALL as absurd.
