Damn! That Texas-Texas Tech game was really good. Not quite up to the standard of the Boise State-Oklahoma contest in the Fiesta Bowl back in 2006 -- what could be? -- but remarkably close. I still have animus against both teams. Texas, because their whining coach cost Cal a Rose Bowl birth, and Texas Tech, because they took advantage of Cal not preparing mentally for the Holiday Bowl berth they ended up getting as a consolation prize. But I'll always root for the underdog when I don't have a strong interest in either team. And Mike Leach is such an interesting coach that I've been pulling for him to triumph finally over the Big 12 bullies. Of course, next week they play a very good Oklahoma State team, so the high might last that long. Tonight, though, it's safe to say that Lubbock is going to be consumed by bliss.

i usually root for the Horns but i could not resist this Tech team. i don't think ANY game i ever see will measure up to the Boise State game - still the best football game i've ever seen - but this one was sublime.

i love what Herbstreit said at some point in the first quarter about Tech's line - he sort of just gave up & said "this is an NFL offensive line."

great game. we'll see if they can survive the Oklahoma programs in the next two weeks.

That offensive line is huge, talented and spaced like no other. It's the most interesting thing about Mike Leach's approach to offense.

Boise State-Oklahoma may well be the most thrilling game ever.
