Seeing that picture brought a huge smile to my face. Thanks Charlie!

I think repeated exposure to the images of important personages when they were children might help bring the world a little closer to peace.

Amazing.

I also think you influenced my unconscious thought. I was at work last night when the election was called and put on the Michael Jackson's Greatest Video Hits DVD in celebration, and it didn't occur to me until "Black or White" came on that I had been thinking about Michael Jackson -and- the election all day.

That makes sense is a symbol, justifably or not, of the forces that have made African-Americans think that they can choose to remain "black" and on the margins of power or turn "white" and secure better access to its central nodes.

I feel the same thing. The strange part is that it's almost like the Republicans who have been players in Washington and the media feel the same way. McCain seemed almost relieved to have lost. And Bush himself sounded strangely conciliatory and even hopeful.

i noticed the same thing. i think i mentioned Karl Rove's peculiar comments - it's like they know the train's fallen off the rails & they just didn't & don't know what to do about that, because all their ideological ideas & principles aren't working. what do you do when everything you know turns out to be wrong? i guess, maybe, you trust the other guy. just for bit, maybe.
