That sorta looks like V-jo, or maybe Oakland/Berkeley... is it? What's the scoop?

I was still in Seattle, in the formerly mostly Scandinavian and still somewhat Scandinavian neighborhood of Ballard. You're right, though, that the house looks like something one would see in V-Town or Oakland. Same period of architecture, similar materials. Douglas fir instead of redwood, but they are similar to use and have similar capacities to resist being eaten away.

Speaking of Seattle and Sub-Pop, I saw Fleet Foxes last night. Niiiiice.

Aren't they great? I was blown away when I saw them at Solar Culture. I already loved the album, but the concert made it ten times deeper in resonance, a transformation that persisted.

I also liked them already, but I was especially blown away by the lead vocalist, Robin Pecknold, when I heard him in person. He is really a transcendent talent.

Oh, yes. He was amazing on the solo song he did here. I love the four-part harmonies live, too. They produce a sublime fusion of barber shop quartet precision and late-60s passion.
