Thanks. It's rare that we get a sky that dark in the middle of the day. I love how wet the foreground looks, even though it hadn't yet rained.

More tease than satisfaction, rain-wise, but satisfying as spectacle.

For ten minutes or so, our mountain (range) looked like the Scottish Highlands.

I have always wanted to visit the Scottish Highlands. Windswept hills are a real turn-on for me!

Thanks! I wish you could come here for the Monsoon sometime. The skies are often fantastic.

Great photo with the subtle shadings of colors. Don't you just love weather??

I do! I really love how saturated the colors are here, despite being earthy or gray. It has the feel of a watercolor, somehow.

For some reason, this reminds me of "Close Encounters of the Third Kind." I think maybe it's a sense of pregnancy from those clouds, like something mysterious is about to happen. Whatever - it's a gorgeous shot.

I was hoping that the pregnancy would lead to a violent rainfall. Maybe it did somewhere -- it probably did up on the ridge -- but the storm was stillborn where I was. But that sense of anticipation, of a revelation about to happen was tremendous. That's why the Close Encounters connection is perfect.
