During the tumult that defined the end of 2010, a year as tumultous -- and almost as bad, from my perspective -- as 2013, I somehow found the time to make several trips out into the natural beauty surrounding Tucson with camera in hand. This photo dates from the last excursion of the year, which I took with Skylar on a very cold day while her mother was elsewhere. It was too cold for us to stay outside very long at our destination, Madera Canyon, and even harder to operate our cameras in the chill wind. But we had a good time trying. I remember playing Skylar Joy Division on the drive down, with a very specific memory of that part of I-19 just past its interchange with I-10
